I visited Urara the other day. I asked for a cut, a perm, and an "eye soak." First of all, I want to say loud and clear that Yamamoto's perms are absolutely amazing. I feel so happy every time I look in the mirror! It was a struggle to get my hair out of bed every morning, but like magic, styling is now so easy, and I can keep having a great hairstyle every day, like I just came out of the salon. The coffee and pomegranate juice I was served while waiting for the perm were also delicious, and I could feel the staff's thoughtfulness in their service. I also asked for an "eye soak," a treatment that is quite rare even in Tokyo. An eye soak is the eye version of a head soak, and is a spa treatment offered at beauty salons and hair salons. You lie on your back at the shampoo stand, and carbonated water is poured over your head like a waterfall, and you then soak your entire head in the water for about five minutes. Apparently, this treatment is gaining popularity for its deep healing, refreshing mood, and cleansing effect on the scalp and hair despite being short. It was so relaxing that it almost felt like my tired eyes were gone! The eye and head soaks were truly luxurious, with the assistant in a dimly lit room, allowing me to chat with her and listen to the sound of the waves. It felt like I was at a resort, and it felt so relaxing. I'm extremely satisfied with everything from the technique to the space and hospitality! I was also impressed by the warm personalities of the staff. You can tell they always put us, the customers, first, so I can leave my care in their hands with peace of mind. The clean, calm interior and the ambiance of the shampoo room are also fantastic. The location, right by Omotesando Station, is also a great advantage for a busy person like me.
