I came here after seeing a TikTok video recommending Nishida Tomomi. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. First, it was extremely difficult to get in touch with her. In the videos, she seems very friendly, but that was not the case. A few weeks later, I had a hair treatment done in Korea, and the experience was a thousand times better and at a much lower price. That’s when I realized how poor my experience in Tokyo had been. I’m still looking for a good salon in Tokyo. Sadly, as a foreigner, it’s hard to find good places on our own.
Worst experience I have in Japan for the first time. Book appointment a month prior and pay for it. The day of I came early for my 10 am appointment and follow the instruction. Nishida tomomii my hair stylist didn’t show up and didn’t contact me till I asked one of the person working there after waiting till 10:30 am. I always have a high respect for Japanese and their manner but this is totally not professional. Be careful when you are booking her. I wasted my time going to the salon and waiting for over 1 hour
I came across from a TikTok video recommending Nishida Tomomi. The glass hair treatment caught my eyes and I wanted to give it a try. She seems to be very friendly in the video but wasn’t so much in person. I felt so awkward the whole time during my hair service. It was also very hard to get her to reply to my dms. I’ve been to many salons and nothing was like this. My whole experience wasn’t so great.
I was very disappointed, I booked an appointment a month before but they never confirmed my booking. Tried to message the salon and the stylist after a week of booking but no response receive, I even followed up but no response receive at all. I even went on the date of my reservation to try availability. I hope they can accommodate foreign customers more or at least try to communicate since we have limited time.
Make sure you get an email confirmation prior to arriving. Their emails can be slightly confusing, where your request is confirmed. That doesn’t mean your booking is confirmed.
1 minute after making an appointment I realised I made a mistake, the cancellation form wasn’t working so I sent an instagram dm and an email ( as requested by them) to cancel. No answer. Then I ask the concierge of my hotel to call them as I don’t speak Japanese. They picked up, said they would cancel but only if they speak to us directly, but they do not speak English (?!) so refused to cancel again. It’s a scam following that TikTok video.
DON’T GO HERE! Paid 35,000 for glass treatment and cut with Nishida Tomomi. Social media has gotten so bad that everything is a lie. I got another treatment somewhere else last time for ¥9,000-22,000 (depending on what you do - MINX shibuya) I felt scammed or maybe she was super busy but if that’s the case it seems unfair to book that many appointments at the same time. On social media it showed her doing a whole process where she put the hair in Saran wrap so the treatment could really settle in. Maybe it to just certain people so that she can get viral. I was there for 2.45h and WAS LEFT ALONE for most of it. First it took about 20 min before she actually started as there was no one at front desk and so i just waited until she was ready. She washed my hair and I guess had put the treatment in my hair and wrapped my head in a shower towel and left me to sit by myself for like 50 min… she has a low heat oscillator thing in the room but honestly felt like it barely did anything cus of how thick the towel is and i have thick hair and it was all twisted in the towel. She then wash out my hair then left me to sit before coming back 15 min later to dry and straighten my hair. then she “cut” its granted i only wanted a slight trim and wanted her to trim my hime bangs but she did a poor job at that and it was really uneven so i had to ask her to fix it but as she did i was hesitant and once it looks okay i just had her stop cus i didnt want to end up with shorter bangs. I felt like I was alone the whole time until she finally dried and straightened my hair for like 20 min. Over alll the treatment last like 2-3 days after i showered it felt like it normally does. I went on the 5th day to another salon to do a hydrating Aujua treatment coat 5,000 yen and last longer than hers. The person was with me the whole time and spent the time to put the treatment in little section by sections and let it soak in. I’ve done 4 treatments and this was by far SOO EXPENSIVE and the worst one. Honestly had a way better experience Minx.
