Experience art and shopping at Ginza “GINZA SIX” in the spring of 2024! Special event “GINZA SIX DOKI DOKI 2024” will be held

At the high-end shopping mall “GINZA SIX” in Ginza, Tokyo, a special spring event “GINZA SIX DOKI 2024” is being held grandly from 4/5 to 5/6.

Attractive art exhibitions and events are being held at various locations within the mall during this period.

The highlight of this event is the spectacular sculpture “BIG CAT BANG” by “Kenji Yanobe,” a contemporary artist representing Japan, which combines social themes and originality.

This workThis work, which is also a homage to Okamoto Taro's “Tower of the Sun,” is a new work in the “SHIP'S CAT” series, a cat that carries fortune while traveling. A huge “Tower of the Sun” type spacecraft appears in the large space located in the center of “GINZA SIX,” and two cats ride on it.

Kenji Yanobe describes this as the largest of his works and his greatest masterpiece at the moment.

Kenji Yanobe is known for his mechanical carvings and giant sculptures that combine social messages with uniqueness.

The large atrium space in the center of “GINZA SIX” is viewed as a galaxy including the Earth, and countless space cats dance in the sky, and the spaceship that floats is a homage to the “Tower of the Sun.”

Kenji Yanobe, who inherited the creative genes of “Taro Okamoto,” weaves the dynamism of the universe from the Big Bang to the present as a new story of life.

“SHIP'S CAT” rides on the back of the giant spacecraft LUCA in the shape of the “Tower of the Sun.” Then, hundreds of “space cats” made of balloons pop out of the spaceship.
